We feel obliged to the principles of sustainable business and social fairness. This is why we have put up strict terms of reference for our partners, our suppliers and for ourselves. All our activities are permanently measured against these principles.

Quality of Diamonds

GIA’s (Gemological Institute of America) color-grading scale for diamonds is the industry standard. The scale begins with the letter D, representing colorless, and continues with increasing presence of color to the letter Z, or light yellow or brown.

VON KRONBERG only uses diamonds with colour quality D to H.

The GIA Clarity Scale contains 11 grades, with most diamonds falling into the VS (very slightly included) or SI (slightly included) categories.

VON KRONBERG only uses diamonds with clarity Fl to VS2.

Certifications

All our Solitaire Diamonds are certified by GIA (Gemological Institute of America).

All our Coloured Precious Stones are certified by IGI (International Gemological Institute).

All other Diamonds (smaller than solitaire, i.e., 0.30 cents) are certified by either IGI (International Gemological Institute) or GII (Gemological Institute of India).

Conflict Free Diamonds

VON KRONBERG strictly selects its suppliers. This is a select group of companies that respect the Kimberley Process, which is an international initiative aimed at ensuring that the profits from the sale of diamonds does not contribute to financing civil wars.

Child Labour Free

VON KRONBERG strongly opposes the exploitation of child labour. We ensure that children are never employed at our manufacturing facilities or in the processing of rough diamonds or colour stones.
